Text/plain is the MIME Content Type for plain unformatted text (i.e., plain
text).

Detail:
The MIME Content Type designation tells a client browser the nature of a transferred file.
Depending on that designation, the browser will save the file, display it, or invoke a
helper application. Text/plain designates plain, unformatted text that requires no special
software to render. The default character set is: CONTENT-TYPE=text/plain; charset=us-
ASCII.
